The Influential Antioxidant Role Of Coenzyme Q10 and Dehydroepiandrosterone against Carbon Tetrachloride Induced Liver Damage In Male Rats

This study evaluated the protective role of exogenous CoQ10 and DHEA their combination on CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity in adult male rats. Thirty rats 225-250 grams, 12-14 weeks old, were used this randomly divided into five equal groups, 6 animals each as following: Control group (G1): received DMSO 0.5ml/ animal/day orally, First treated (T1): daily CCl4 1ml/kg (1:1 olive oil, IP), Second (T2): 1ml/ kg after 1hour injected with 200 mg/kg IP, Third (T3): 25 Fourth (T4): a + IP. The experiment lasted for 28 successive days. obtained results illustrated that (1ml/kg) caused significant increase hepatic enzyme function AST, ALT ALP, well MDA levels, decrease antioxidant activity GPx, SOD CAT levels. In addition, also various degrees liver damage, such dilation congestion central vein hemorrhage, apparent fatty degeneration infiltration inflammatory cells compared to control group. Whereas, showed (P< 0.05) serum ALP value, significantly increased decline levels intoxication. It is observed from highly (P < elevate CAT, almost return average level control. As as, histopathological examination revealed had usual veins hepatocytes groups due antioxidant, anti-inflammatory anti-apoptotic properties. has been concluded have effect against damage induced by through improving leading declined reduced lipid peroxidation.
